I've been to this facility several times & I've always been seen promptly. The staff is professional, courteous & very helpful to take care of whatever complaint I have had. I use them when I cannot get a timely appt. to see my private physician, which at times has a 2 month wait for a "sick" appointment.

Great for minor emergencies.

I was seen about 2 weeks ago for a hamster bite. It was a pretty gnarly bite. They saw me pretty quickly, thoroughly cleansed the wound, and answered my questions. I feel I was well cared for. Now, I can't say anything about billing. I hope there are no issues there.

Since zero is not an option, I had to choose one star. On 7/10/2017, Coretta (front desk receptionist) refused to see my son who had difficulty breathing and severe facial swelling. She refused to see my son because he didn't have a Tricare insurance card which military personnel will understand Tricare doesn't give you an actual insurance card. They provide you with a military id that has a DoD number listed not an actual ssn. Just like a commercial insurance carrier benefits still have to be verified by phone, fax, or automated eligibility check. He did have his driver's license on hand. After, I spoke with the receptionist and informed her I could immediately fax over the provider benefits eligibility alongside his military id so he could receive care she still refused treatment/services. The manager wasn't available to discuss the issue when asked to speak with her personally, but Coretta did mention she confirmed with the manager Sherry who validated her actions. When turned away he went to Piedmont Emergency Room where he was treated immediately upon arrival with no insurance card on hand. This could've been a huge liability on behalf of Piedmont following the refusal of care. Per EMTALA guidelines his rights as a patient seeking emergent / urgent care have been violated.

I've been to this center twice trying to avoid the ER but would rather wait then get substandard care. My first experience wasn't good or bad but my second was horrible. First they rushed me out with a very short exam. I had severe body pain and they wouldn't even consider giving me anything for it. When asked they told me "NO." They told me to take Tylenol. I told them it wasn't helping and they said take more and we are not giving you anything else. I don't have any hx of pain mess so why would they treat me a pill popper. I could go on about the other problems with the visit but would rather leave it at that. I would never go back to their facility. Summit Intermediate care is down the street.
